Our goal is to offer you exposure to various types of engagements, industries, difficulty levels, team dynamics, and leadership styles all within our unique culture. Our interns are integrated into our teams and offered opportunities to experience staff work and exposure to client communication.

We offer two internship seasons in the Assurance Division – Spring and Summer.

Spring
Spring is traditionally our busy season, so one of the many benefits of being a spring intern is that you will experience a variety of engagement types and dive deep into interesting and unique challenges as we serve our clients. Projects will primarily include financial statement audits and reviews in key niche industries such as manufacturing, retail, wholesale, construction, professional services, and non-profits.

Summer
Our summer internship is aligned with other division intern cohorts and offers additional opportunities for networking as well as exposure to some of our more unique projects. The summer offers many engagements that are outside the boundaries of what is taught in class. During this time, we have a mixture of projects including nonprofit audits, employee benefit plan audits, forensic services, unique consulting projects, and financial statement audits and reviews.

Consulting Internship

Our goal is to offer you a variety of exposure to various types of engagements, industries, difficulty levels, team dynamics, and leadership styles all within our unique culture. Our interns are integrated into our teams and offered opportunities to experience staff work and exposure to client communication.

We offer one internship season in the Consulting Division – Summer.

The summer consulting internship at JTaylor provides students the opportunity to contribute on active client work as a fully integrated member of our team. The 10-week program consists of training, mentorship, client work, and a research project which culminates in a presentation to the division. Our interns receive exposure to working with all levels within our division, from analysts to managers to partners, fostering both professional and personal growth. Some of the common project types include merger and acquisition support, healthcare revenue model buildouts, and valuations. The goal of the program is to give our interns a representative experience of what it means to be a consulting analyst – including working on multiple client engagements, participating in firm activities, and creating strong relationships among all team members.

Tax Internship

Our goal is to offer you exposure to various types of engagements, industries, difficulty levels, team dynamics, and leadership styles all within our unique culture. Our interns are integrated into our teams and offered opportunities to experience staff work and exposure to client communication.

We offer two internship seasons in the Tax Division – Spring and Summer.

Spring
The traditional tax busy season offers great exposure to give you a sense of what it is like to work in tax full time. After receiving training on the basics of tax accounting and a variety of software, interns will focus on different types of federal tax returns including partnerships, individuals, trusts, and corporations. JTaylor’s work spans multiple industries including healthcare, real estate, oil & gas, farm & ranch, and state/local tax (SALT). The goal of the program is to provide our interns a representative experience of what a career as a tax professional looks like.

Summer
Summer offers interns a unique perspective in what being a tax associate encompasses outside of busy season. Interns receive training on the basics of tax accounting, software, and procedures. Summer interns have more opportunities for research, tax projections related to the timing and structure of transactions and other taxable events, and other specialty projects during the summer. They also get a chance to work on more complex tax returns that are in larger in size. Our work spans multiple industries like healthcare, real estate, oil & gas, farm & ranch, and state/local tax (SALT). Interns will work with experienced staff members, fostering both professional and personal growth during their time with JTaylor.

Collin (Consulting Analyst) - JTaylor has allowed me the opportunity to challenge myself with complex problems and collaborate with an incredible team. The two biggest question marks for me, as I pursued a job after graduation, were (i) can I be a true value-add; and (ii) do I want to be on this team? Although consulting is a challenging line of work, and healthcare adds an extra layer of complexity, JTaylor’s ability to develop entry-level analysts allowed me to take on engagements from day one and truly see the team benefit from the work I did. The leadership and collaborative environment in which we work has created a true family and makes me proud to be a part of the team. Looking back, I know I made the right choice out of college.

Cole (Senior Tax Associate) - The opportunities that JTaylor has brought me have allowed me to grow within my professional and personal life, which has empowered me to take control of my own career. Through my time at JTaylor I have been blessed to work with very talented people that continue to be selfless in their efforts to help reach our common goal of best serving our clients. Last year during busy season I was fortunate to have multiple group members step up to help complete a project with a tight deadline. This made me very proud to be a part of such a diligent team, where people will stop at nothing to ensure the quality of work that we provide to our clients.

Kara (Assurance Associate) - I knew that JTaylor was the right place for me because I have seen every day that I have worked here that the firm truly cares [about] and invests in its employees. At JTaylor, each employee isn’t simply a number, but they are a true asset to the firm and its culture. If there was ever something I wanted to learn or try I know that the firm would support me fully because the firm wants to grow as the employees grow. JTaylor isn’t a job towards a career, it is a career.

Desiree (Tax Manager) - My favorite part of being a part of the JTaylor family is our culture and relationships with one another. Becoming a new hire during a pandemic can be scary because there are lots of unknowns – not just learning my new responsibilities, but learning the team, learning the various personalities, and wondering if I would fit in and be accepted. Since day one, I can honestly say JTaylor has welcomed me with open arms – from the partner group to the intern group. Although working from home and using Microsoft Teams, I feel just as connected to the team as I would if I were in the office. We truly are a family!

Abby (Tax Associate) - I knew JTaylor was different before I even stepped foot in the door. Julia and the whole recruitment team went above and beyond to accommodate my schedule during the interview process. Once I was here, I was blown away by the genuine and down to earth conversations I had with everyone I met – and I met a lot of staff! I loved how I got to meet about 8 people during my interview and it was really beneficial to see how beautifully dynamic our team is here at JTaylor. Not many people can say they had fun during their interview process, but I did. I felt completely at home.
